SOONA Today our beautiful GSD was put to sleep in the sunshine in our garden. Soona came to us as a 15 month rescue who had had two homes before and was known for chewing furniture! She was the underdog with the other rescue dogs but she was different. She arrived with our son aged 12 at the time in the car with her beautiful ears proud and a tail so fluffy. She was our love and gave us so much, we went on holidays together, we played together, walked, swam and laughed together. She came everywhere with us and protected us in our home and out. It was a joy to see her big eyes & muzzle at the door or through the window-welcoming us home, to watch her role in the grass, fetch sticks or to sit by our feet in the evenings. Today we had to let her go- her back legs went and she could not get herself up to walk. A blood test revealed something not right and we cared for her at home for several days. With the sun shining and on her favourite blanket in the garden today- we had cuddles and gentle words of thanks to her- then let her go. Our lives will never be the same and tears keep flowing when we find her biscuits under the chair or in the car- She gave us so much. God bless our beautiful dog. |
