It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that poor old KIM went to heaven this morning, 20/03/09.
She was 9 years old.

We never knew her birthday as she was a rescue dog, approx eight month old when she came to live with us,
so we chose Xmas day to be her birthday. When we got her she was frightened of anything and everything.

It’s sad to see a beautiful animal like that being so scared and timid, but as time went on and she felt secure and safe her own personality came out, and we loved her dearly. We know that KIM had a better life with us, than the one she would have been destined to lead had she not been rescued, and we are both glad that we could give her the home she deserved, we just assumed she would always be here with us; our house is so empty without her.

KIM and the HOSEPIPE

She had been ill since Xmas 2008, and during the night last night her condition deteriorated.
She was restless and upset and it seemed that she could not get any comfort, so we stayed up most of the night.
We took her to the vet this morning and she went to sleep there.

Before she went, I sat in the garden with her in her patch of sunlight where she put her head up towards the sun, closed her eyes, and did the cute doggy smile she used to do.
This is how I will always remember her, and I don't think I will ever look out into the back garden without seeing her there. She will always be remembered and has left a big gap in our lives.

Sadly the day before we lost KIM, our son lost his 10 year old Labrador, Harry.
So at least we know that KIM has a friend to play with in heaven.
